NISSAN X-TRAIL PERFORMANCE

This country has a lot of places to visit and the Nissan X-Trail offers you a choice of how to get there – you can run your adventures on either petrol or diesel. Both Nissan X-Trail engines offer all the power you need but, just as importantly, achieve great fuel economy.

The 2.5 litre 4 cylinder petrol engine delivers an impressive 125kW of power and 226Nm of torque thanks, in part, to its Continuous Valve Timing Control System (CVTCS), which optimises performance. It’s available with the incredibly smooth automatic Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with 6-speed M-Mode.

The 2.0 litre turbo-diesel engine is no slouch either. It features a variable nozzle turbo charger that helps deliver more power and lower emissions, giving you 110kW of power and 320Nm of torque delivered through a 6-speed automatic with M-Mode. Offering excellent fuel economy – 7.4 litres per 100 km combined for the diesel models, you can spend more time seeing New Zealand and less time at the service station.

NISSAN X-TRAIL SAFETY

Nissan X-Trail has an advanced, proactive approach to vehicle safety that operates on three tiers. Firstly, the Nissan X-Trail’s design and ride height offer excellent visibility to help you identify and avoid potential hazards. Secondly, a variety of systems aid you in maintaining control in emergency situations. The Electronic Stability Program (ESP), also known as Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), compares the intention of the driver with the current behaviour of the vehicle and selectively brakes individual wheels and controls engine power to help keep the car on its intended path and prevent roll-over. While the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Brake Assist (BA) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) work together to help you retain control when braking, apply additional braking in an emergency situation and optimise control by sensing the load condition of both passengers and luggage. Finally, in the event of a collision, the Nissan X-Trail’s high intensity cabin structure and a total of six airbags - dual front, front side and curtain, create a protective cocoon to keep you and your passengers safe.
